OYAP Participant (Exploring the Trade: student’s coop is in a skilled trades placement)
- Each of our 9 high schools offers cooperative education
- Students are expected to find a coop placement with a skilled trades employer, and complete the OYAP Participant form
- This form requires parent/guardian signature if the student is under 18 years old.

OYAP Registered Apprentice (Committing to the Trade: student signs a Registered Training Agreement with co-op employer)

These forms require parent/ guardian signature if the student is under 18 years old. SIN number required on Registration form

The OYAP consultant creates the Registered Training Agreement, delivers to the Ministry of Labour Training and Skills Development

OYAP Accelerated Level 1 Apprentice (Jumping Ahead in the Trade: student signs a Registered Training Agreement with co-op employer, receives Level 1 training)
- Offered to semester 2 graduating students
- Combination of Coop and Level 1 curriculum
- Requires application and interview (spring prior to grade 12 start)
- Currently SMCDSB offers Level 1 Machinist/ Carpentry and Hairstyling
- Training Delivery Agent is Georgian College
- College marks are recorded on high school transcript
